Newsome fired rounds of 71-70, -1 under par, to make the cut at Candler Hills in Ocala, Florida. He then shot 68 (-3) the final round to finish the tournament at -4 under and record another T-18th finish in the 144 person field on the Florida Professional Golf Tour.
