In his best finish of the early 2017 season Emerson Newsome finished round-one in blistering fashion. Heading into the par 4 16th hole at -1 under par Newsome aggressively attacked the remaining three holes and finished eagle, par and double eagle to finish round one with a -6 under 66. His double eagle came on the par 5 eighteenth hole form 192 yards out with an 8 iron. Day two brought a closing round -3 under 69 for sole possession of second place at -9 under par two day total of 135.
